After 35 incredible years in private practice in Tulsa, Dr. Burchard retired from Dental Surgical Arts of Tulsa and entrusted the care of his patients to Dr. Jordan Pierce. He is honored to pass the baton to Dr. Pierce. Dr. Burchard practiced with Dr. Pierce from May of 2023 through May of 2025, and he affirms that Dr. Pierce exhibits exceptional skill and dedication as a periodontist.

Dr. Burchard appreciates this opportunity to express his heartfelt gratitude for the support from colleagues and patients along with the wonderful relationships built over many years. He cherishes the privilege of having worked alongside such talented dentists who care deeply for their patients.

Dr. Burchard was born in Midland, Texas. He attended Texas A&M where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology, and after graduation, he attended Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, Texas. Following his undergraduate training, Dr. Burchard completed his residency in Periodontics at the University of Missouri at Kansas City, earning both a certificate in Periodontics as well as a Master’s degree in Biology. Since 1990, he had been in full-time practice in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He is an active member of the American Academy of Periodontology, Tulsa County Dental Society, the Oklahoma Dental Association, the American Dental Association, and the Academy of Osseointegration.

Dr Burchard devoted his professional career to all aspects of dental implants and periodontics. He has always been especially interested in helping people restore beautiful smiles using dental implants and cosmetic and reconstructive procedures to replace missing or unaesthetic front teeth. To keep abreast of the latest developments in dental implants and periodontics, he frequently attends continuing education to remain knowledgeable of all state-of-the-art techniques. As a Co-Founder and current member of the Tulsa Study Club, he spent much of his career leading this prestigious organization of top local dentists in learning together and delivering the best dentistry to our patients in the Tulsa community. Dr. Burchard now devotes his professional attention to teaching dental students at the Tulsa campus of University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry.

As a dedicated husband and father of four sons, he is looking forward to spending more time with his family following retirement from private practice. His family enjoys cycling, snow and water-skiing and surfing, team sports, as well as travelling and exploring new places and the many activities associated with four sons. He and his wife, Ellen, are active members of First Baptist Church, Jenks.
